I started throwing in 2015 when I was at university. I studied Social Anthropology and I based my ethnographic research at London’s first open access ceramics studio, Turning Earth. I interviewed members to understand the craft’s rise in popularity and why it was particularly gaining traction in urban environments.

After a few years of work post-graduation, and a long hiatus from clay, I started to experience the same feelings as those members I had interviewed all those years ago. I yearned to do something tactile with my hands and reconnect with the earth.

I got back on the wheel in 2022 and launched Ceramics by Sunny at the end of 2023.

Now, I am so excited to share my passion with you through the private classes I offer at my studio and through the pieces I create.
